What is Exposed Aggregate Concrete?

Exposed aggregate concrete is concrete that has had the smooth top layer washed off before the drying process is completed. This allows for various decorative elements to be added to the concrete to produce a unique finish.

Stones are a popular additive to exposed aggregate concrete. Richly coloured natural stones such as limestone, granite, quartz and basalts are commonly used to decorate the top layer of the concrete. Unique items like shells and pebbles are also often used.
